Common issues and solutions when using VPA.
Running into problems? Here are solutions to the most common issues. If your problem isn't listed, contact support with details about what you're experiencing.
Upload Issues
Video won't upload
- Check file size: Maximum is 100MB. Compress or trim your video if needed.
- Check format: Supported formats are MP4, WebM, MOV, and AVI.
- Check codec: Some codecs aren't supported. Re-encode with H.264.
- Try a different browser: Some browsers handle uploads better than others.
Upload is stuck
If your upload seems frozen, check your internet connection. Large files may take several minutes on slower connections. Try refreshing the page and uploading again.
Analysis Issues
Analysis fails with an error
- API key invalid: Check that your API key is correct and has sufficient credits.
- Rate limit exceeded: Wait a few minutes and try again, or use a different model.
- Model unavailable: The AI provider may be experiencing issues. Check their status page.
- Video too short: Videos should be at least 2 seconds for meaningful analysis.

Check provider status
Many analysis failures are caused by temporary AI provider issues. Check status.openai.com or similar status pages for your provider.
Analysis is very slow
- Reduce the number of frames (4 is usually sufficient)
- Try a faster model (GPT-4o is faster than Claude 3 Opus)
- Check AI provider status for slowdowns
- Ensure your video isn't excessively long
Poor quality results
- Low quality source: Analysis quality depends on video quality.
- Too few frames: Increase frame count for better motion understanding.
- Complex scene: Very busy scenes may confuse the analysis.
- Wrong model: Try a different AI model; some work better for certain content.
YouTube Issues
YouTube URL not recognized
- Use full URL: Include the complete URL starting with https://
- Check URL format: youtube.com/watch?v=ID or youtu.be/ID
- Private video: Only public videos can be analyzed
YouTube video won't process
- Video may be region-restricted
- Video may have age restrictions
- Video may have been deleted or made private
- YouTube may be rate-limiting requests
Account Issues
Can't log in
- Check password: Use the "Forgot Password" link if needed.
- Check email: Make sure you're using the correct email address.
- Clear cookies: Try clearing browser cookies and cache.
- Disable extensions: Some browser extensions can interfere.
API key not working
- Verify the key is copied correctly (no extra spaces)
- Check that the key has the required permissions
- Ensure your provider account has credits
- Try regenerating the key from your provider dashboard
Display Issues
UI looks broken
- Hard refresh the page (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R)
- Clear browser cache
- Try a different browser
- Disable browser extensions
