Quick Start

Get your first AI video prompt in under 2 minutes.

This guide will walk you through creating your first optimized video prompt. By the end, you'll have a prompt ready to paste into your favorite AI video generator.

Prerequisites

Make sure you're logged in to your VPA account. If you haven't set up your AI provider API keys yet, VPA will use the default model. You can add your own keys later in Settings.

Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to the Analyzer

Click Analyze in the sidebar or go directly to /analyze. This is your main workspace for creating prompts.

Choose Your Input Method

You have three options:

  • Video Upload: Click the upload area to select a video file from your computer
  • YouTube URL: Switch to the YouTube tab and paste a video URL
  • Style Anchors: Switch to Style Anchors to build a style from scratch

Select Your Target Generator

Choose which AI video generator you want to optimize for:
  • Sora - Best for cinematic, descriptive prompts
  • Veo - Best for balanced, structured content
  • Runway - Best for action and dramatic scenes
  • Kling - Best for natural, technical descriptions

Configure Analysis Settings (Optional)

Fine-tune your analysis:

  • Trim Controls: Select a specific portion of the video to analyze
  • Frame Count: Choose how many frames to extract (more frames = more detail)

Run the Analysis

Click the Analyze button. VPA will:
  • Extract key frames from your video
  • Analyze camera movement, lighting, composition, and more
  • Generate an optimized prompt for your selected generator

This typically takes 10-30 seconds depending on the video length.

Review and Copy Your Prompt

Once complete, you'll see your generated prompt along with:
  • A visual preview of analyzed frames
  • An explanation of the technical elements detected
  • Refinement options to adjust the prompt

Click Copy to copy the prompt to your clipboard.

Use Your Prompt

Paste the prompt into your AI video generator and create your video!

Pro Tip: Save as Scene

Happy with your prompt? Click Save as Scene to bookmark it for later. Saved scenes can be reused, added to storyboards, and organized by project.
